Summer Program (one course - 3 credits) and Summer Institute (two courses - 6 credits).

 

Summer Program:

The Summer Program is a month-long academic (for-credit) program held in July. Students come with J1 visa. We do not require a TOEFL score to be admitted to this program. Official English language evaluations by students’ home institution will be accepted. Alternatively, we can do the evaluations via Skype, WebEx, or WeChat to determine students’ English proficiency levels for placement.  

  • Dates: June 30 – August 1, 2018
  • Application deadline [priority]: March 15 (could be extended to April 1st).
  • Current Courses: Biology and Nursing
    • Additional courses may be offered based on interest and number of students (please note that a minimum of 15 students need to register to create a new course).
  • As part of the Summer Program, visiting students are paired with Georgia State student buddies for language practice and friendship. 
  • Price: $3,500 (includes in-state tuition/fees for 3 credits, housing, flexible meal plan, insurance, local transportation, and excursions).

The Summer Institute is a month-long academic (for-credit) program held in July. Students come with F1 visa. We do not require a TOEFL score to be admitted to this program.   • Current Courses: Academic English, Art History, International Business (with Business English), Introduction to U.S. Law (with Legal English), Biology, Nursing, Public Speaking, and Education.

    • Students must take two, 3-credit courses.

 We will be very pleased to host a faculty/staff chaperone (excluding airfare) for incoming groups of 10+ student participants. We will cover housing, flexible meal plan, local transportation, and excursions for the chaperone.
